Privacy

Roamyard is run by Aseem Thakar from Melbourne, Australia. This page covers what we collect when you use the Roamyard app or roamyard.app, why, and what you can do about it. Questions go to hello@roamyard.app.

What we collect

• Account: your email address, which is how you log in.
• Profile: first name, photo, age, gender, where you're from, and anything optional you add (work, interests, who you'd like to meet, food needs, Instagram handle).
• Travel: the cities you tell us you're in and your dates there.
• Events: what you book, cancel and attend, your ratings and feedback, and who you tap to stay in touch with.
• Content: messages in your table's group chat and photos you add to a recap.
• Safety: reports and blocks you make, and reports made about you.
• Device: a push notification token if you allow notifications, and basic server logs (IP address, time of request) kept for security and debugging.

We don't use advertising trackers and we don't sell your data.

Why we use it

• To match you into groups. Age, gender, where you're from, interests and who you'd like to meet all go into who sits at your table.
• To run the night: reveal your group, unlock the restaurant, send reminders, and put everyone in a group chat.
• To reconnect people who both chose to stay in touch.
• To keep tables safe, and to act on reports.
• To email you login codes and event updates.

Who sees what

• People at your table see your first name, photo, flag, and the optional details on your profile. They see the group chat and recap photos.
• People you've met see you in their People tab. If you both chose to stay in touch, they see your Instagram handle and when you're in the same city.
• "In this city now" shows you to people you've met who are in the same city. You can turn it off in Settings.
• Your attendance record stays private. Other members only ever see a positive "Reliable" badge.

Services we use

These companies process data for us, only to run Roamyard:

• Railway: hosting, database and photo storage (servers in Singapore and the US).
• Resend: sending emails.
• Expo, Apple and Google: delivering push notifications.
• Cloudflare: DNS for roamyard.app.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while you have an account. When you delete your account, your profile, photos, bookings, messages and connections are deleted straight away. Server logs roll off within 30 days. Reports you made about someone else may be kept without your name attached, so we can keep other members safe.

Your choices

• Edit or remove anything on your profile in the app.
• Turn notifications off in Settings or in your phone's settings.
• Delete your account in Settings → Delete my account. It's immediate.
• Ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct it, at hello@roamyard.app.

We handle personal information under the Australian Privacy Act 1988. If you're in the EU or UK you also have your rights under the GDPR, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.

Age

Roamyard is for people 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
